Technical Sales Engineer – USA (Midwest Region)

We are seeking a talented technical sales engineer to cover the Midwest region. The successful candidate may work from home or from an office in the Illinois region. Training will be provided at corporate headquarters in Ireland.
The role includes but is not limited to the following:
• Identify new business opportunities with OEM’s in the mobile machinery sector, specifically in the areas of construction, material handling and agriculture
• Grow our sales in the region significantly
• Build good relationships with existing customers and provide pre and after sales support
• Work with our sales and engineering team in Ireland on costing, design queries, etc. to provide solutions to our customers
• Respond to technical sales queries and provide quotations for customers
• Follow up on quotations and keep records of customer feedback
• Respond to enquiries in a prompt and efficient manner
• Visit customers in the Midwest and throughout the USA and where necessary travel to Ireland
• Attend trade fairs, where necessary
The successful candidate will have the following skills and attributes:
• The applicant must have a can-do attitude to do what it takes to meet customer needs
• Graduate degree in a mechanical related technical discipline with relevant experience
• Experience of solid works or equivalent an advantage
• Experience in engineering, especially in the hydraulics and fluid power sector
• Experience in sales and marketing
• Excellent communications skills
• Strong customer focus and telephone manner
• Be able to work well as part of a team whilst also having the ability to work on own initiative
• Strong IT and analytical skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Experience using Microsoft Office suite and CRM systems
